Farewell 5th Grade
I can't believe the time has come for you to move on to middle school! It has been a great run. I hope you will all remember the friends, lessons, and encouragement that GT brought. We will miss you all!
5th Grade Field Trip
What a wonderful day for a fieldtrip! We got to meet up with the other Vallivue GT class and enjoy a wonderful day outside. We released our trout - About 66 total! And then we headed over to the Fisheries Research Building to find out how to age fish using scales and fins. We went fishing and/or participated in a nature scavenger hunt, enjoyed a picnic lunch, and finally toured the fish hatchery. It was a day to remember! Special thanks to all of our parent volunteers and to Karen, Cory, Micah, and Tyler at the Fisheries Research!

Passion Project Presentations
Wow! It's amazing what happens when you let 5th graders design their own learning projects. From art explorations, aircraft, saving lives, important messages from Kid Secretary (see below) and super-string theory in physics - we were AMAZED with the variety of topics! It was an impressive day as we got to hear the details of the projects and see the final products. We of course saved time to reflect on learning and get peer feedback. What a wonderful day!

Breaking News!
This just in. . . Greek Myths in modern times. 3rd graders describe important events in Greek Mythology as if they were events on the news. Check out their creativity and use of Green Screen apps to bring the myths to life.
